The Alberta First Responders Association (AFRA) began as a peer support group on Facebook on February 28, 2023 and quickly grew into a community of 2,500+ First Responders. It now operates as a nonprofit advocacy organization for mental health support & suicide prevention training.
Who are our members?
For membership, the AFRA considers First Responders to be individuals that are employed or have been employed by an organization governed by a Code of Conduct, and by the very nature of their work put the safety and/or wellness of the general public above their own.
What are we building?
We are building a community of First Responders that puts mental health support and suicide prevention at forefront of priorities.
Is there a cost to be a member?
No, there are no cost to be a member and we work to raise funds to provide free mental health support and training opportunities throughout the year.
