5km In Their Boots

Alberta First Responders Association
Annual First Responder Support Event

We Got Your 6-KM

Run • Walk • Ruck in support of first responder mental health, operational stress injury awareness, and the Alberta First Responders Association.

Date Saturday, October 3, 2026
Location Central Park, Spruce Grove, AB
Format Run • Walk • Ruck

Every step counts.

6 “Got your six” means standing behind those who stand for us.

Every day, firefighters, EMS, police, corrections, and military personnel carry burdens the rest of us will never fully understand. They have our backs. On October 3rd, it is our turn to show them we have theirs.

The We Got Your 6-KM is dedicated to raising awareness and crucial funding for first responder mental health and operational stress injuries, including OSI and PTSD.

Proceeds support AFRA’s work toward the 1st Health Mobile Support Unit, a specialized mobile psychological crisis triage space designed to support rural Alberta frontline members on scene following traumatic deployments, while helping bring free training to first responders across the province.

The AFRA considers First Responders to be individuals who are or have been employed by or volunteered with an organization governed by a Code of Conduct, which provides operational oversight. These individuals, by the nature of their work, prioritize the safety and/or well-being of the general public above their own.
