Boots On The Ground was started by Dave McLennan, a dedicated Police Officer who, on the verge of retirement, felt called to continue to serve his community in a new way. He had become passionate about the impact that exposure to trauma was having on police officers and other First Responders and he believed that he could bring together a group of dedicated volunteers to help make a difference.

Driving Foreward was designed for military and first responders by those who have worked in the field and on the streets. The human mind is not meant to see all that we encounter on a daily basis and it takes a toll on our mind, body and soul. It hits home every time we see another warrior lose their battle to their demons and we want to make sure that all our battle buddies, no matter what uniform, or role, know that they are not alone and there is a way out of the darkness.
Our program works to destroy the stigma around the mental health of our warriors while uniting them with physical, mental and emotional tools that are proven to increase confidence and overall wellness on a foundation of resiliency and mindfulness strategies.
We have partnered with BOTGAB, Driving FOREWARD and Little Warriors for the first annual Alberta First Responders GALA on April 20th 2024. They along with AFRA all will share the funds raised from the GALA. So let try and make this an event we will never forget.
